Panhandle Approaching 900 COVID-19 Cases

The number of active cases of COVID-19 in the Panhandle rose to 88 on Tuesday with Panhandle Unified Command reporting 18 new cases and only 11 recoveries.

Only 4 of the active cases are hospitalized.  

       The Panhandle has had 887 cases, 790 recoveries, and 9 deaths since the pandemic began. 

       Dawes County added 5 cases with 1 recovery to push those counts to 133 cases, 123 recoveries, and just 10 active cases 

       Chadron State College remained at 47 cases – 41 of them students – with just 1 active case, also a student.

There are no new or active cases in the Chadron Public Schools, but 2 more students or staff were added to quarantine for a total of 6.
