3 More COVID-19 Deaths In The Panhandle Including The 6th In Dawes County

Panhandle Unified Command reported 3 more COVID-19 deaths on Thursday, one each in Dawes, Box Butte, and Grant Counties.

The region has now had 24 deaths from the coronavirus.

     There were also 153 new confirmed cases with the number of active cases rising to 1,938 including 76 who are hospitalized. The Panhandle has had 4,098 total cases with 2,136 recoveries.

     In addition to the one death, Dawes County added just 1 new case and had 14 recoveries to drop the number of active cases to 83. The county has had 387 total cases, 298 recoveries, and 6 deaths.

      Chadron State College reported 3 more employees testing positive, bringing the total number of cases to 108 with 89 students and 19 staff The collegel has 23 active cases, 28 students and 5 staff.

     The Chadron Public Schools remains at 2 active cases, both at the high school, with 28 total cases.  Another 4 quarantines bring the district total to 28
