It’s A Busy Few Days For Music At CSC

The is a busy time for the Chadron State College music department with 6 performances over a 5 day period with all but one of the events in the Sandoz Center.

There were 2 events Saturday, the senior recital of soprano Ashley Jackson and a violin recital by Dr Iona Galu of the University of South Dakota.

The Sandoz Center hosts 2 performances today: a student honors recital at 3:00 and at 7:00 cellist Heather Blackburn.

Blackburn has been playing professionally for nearly 30 years. She’s now based in Portland, OR, and plays with a variety of groups on the West Coast. Blackburn also gives private lessons and teaches at George Fox University in Newberg, OR.

There are no performances Monday, but Tuesday makes up for that – at least in the number of musicians – as the bands from Chadron State College and the Chadron Public Schools hold a concert in Memorial Hall at 7:00 that includes all the bands playing together on one number.

Wrapping up the run of musical events will be CSC adjunct instructor Jeffrey McCray with a bassoon recital, accompanied by pianist Bobby Pace, Wednesday at 7:00
