Chadron State Park
Sunday, May 22
1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Attract bluebirds to your area by placing a homemade nest box on your property! In celebration of Nebraska Bird Month, join Bird Conservancy of the Rockies at Chadron State Park for an afternoon of constructing valuable nest boxes for bluebirds. Both Mountain and Eastern Bluebirds will benefit from the nest box, and you and your family will benefit from hosting your new visitors (who are also great pest-controllers). All building materials are generously provided by the NRCS. Tools will be provided, but feel free to bring your favorite hammer. The workshop will be meeting at the Lagoon Shelter, next to the pond.
All ages are welcome, but children must be accompanied by an adult. Max registration is 25 adults. One nest box per registration group.
This workshop is FREE, thanks to support from Natural Resources Conservation Services, Nebraska Game and Parks Commission and Nebraska Environmental Trust.
