The Chadron State College men’s wrestling team will have a flash to the past when they host Colorado School of Mines in the Nelson Physical Activity Center (NPAC) on Friday at 6 p.m.

The Eagles moved their duals to the Chicoine Center from the NPAC in January of 2020. Prior to 2020, the NPAC was the home site for CSC wrestling duals.

Tomorrows opponent, the Orediggers from Colorado Mines, are ranked #30 in the nation and have four individuals ranked.

A possibility of three nationally ranked matchups are on the schedule between the two teams.

At 125 pounds, #7 Quade Smith has been the Eagles mainstay in the class. The Oredigger’s Christian Lopez is 7-4 and ranked #17.

Grayston DiBlasi is 14-4 and ranked #8 in the nation for Colorado Mines at 141 pounds. He will have a matchup against the Eagles #17 ranked Ethan Leake.

The third possible ranked match is at 174 pounds. #10 Logan Berger is on the card for the Eagles while #11 Wyatt Reisz will wrestler for the Orediggers.

As a team, Colorado School of Mines is 4-1 overall and 2-1 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference duals. They defeated RMAC opponents New Mexico Highlands, 31-13, and San Francisco State, 26-15, but fell to Western Colorado 29-15.

The Eagles, who are 4-1 overall and 2-0 in the RMAC, defeated San Francisco State 40-3 and Highlands 34-7.
There’s also high school wrestling at the NPAC before and after the Chadron State dual. The Chadron High School Boys Dual Tournament is Friday morning and afternoon with 8 schools while more than twice that many will compete all day Saturday at the Chadron High Invite, which has both boys and girls divisions.
