Funeral services for 47-year old Aaron Black Bear, originally scheduled for Wed, April 7, 2021 have been pushed back a day to Thurs, April 8, at 2:00 at the Messiah Episcopal Church in Wounded Knee, SD, with The Rev Harold Eagle Bull officiating.
Burial is at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Wounded Knee
Instead of a one-night wake beginning Tues, April 6, visitation will take place Thurs before the funeral from 10:00-2:00, also at the Messiah Episcopal Church
Aaron W. Black Bear was born on November 1, 1973 in Pine Ridge, SD to Alberta Black Bear and Philip Davis. Aaron made his journey to the Spirit World on March 26, 2021 in Rapid City, SD.
Aaron is survived by his daughter, Carteecia Jumping Eagle; sister, Weta Black Bear; brother, Roger Davis; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Aaron was preceded in death by his parents, Alberta Black Bear and Philip Davis; daughter, Tatyanna Jumping Eagle; brother, Zuyamani Davis; grandparents, Lydia Black Bear and Eugene Black Bear, Sr.; aunt, Bernice Black Bear; uncle, Eugene Black Bear, Jr.; and niece, Angel Cottier.
Pallbearers will be Christian Good Lance, Ziggy Morrison, Stephan Eagle Bear, Autuwan Hawk Wing, Rowayne Wounded Horse and Eugene Tanewasha, Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jordan Cedar Face, Jeremy Cottier, Anthony Two Bulls, Terry, Larry and Barry Thompson, Jon Wounded Horse & Family, Simone Little Hawk & Family, Denise Fast Wolf & Family, Brenda Good Lance & Family, Trinity Blacksmith & Family, and All Friends & Relatives.
