Adrian Hollow Horn

Visitation services for 48-year old Adrian Dean Hollow Horn are Thursday, June 11, 2020 from 10 AM-1 PM at the Sioux Funeral Home in Pine Ridge, SD.

Graveside services will follow at 1:30 PM at the Messiah Episcopal Church in Wounded Knee, SD, with The Rev. Harold Eagle Bull officiating and with traditional Lakota services as well.

A meal will be provided by the family after the graveside services at the Messiah Episcopal Church.

Adrian Dean Hollow Horn “Wambli Ihanbla” was born on September 17, 1971 in Pine Ridge to Harold Hollow Horn Sr and Christine (Wounded Horse) Hollow Horn. Adrian made his journey to the Spirit World on June 8, 2020 at the Pine Ridge I.H.S. Hospital in Pine Ridge.

Adrian was the fifth child of Harold Hollow Horn Sr and Christine Wounded Horse-Hollow Horn. Adrian grew up in Wakpamni Lake, SD and Wounded Knee SD.

He attended Batesland elementary and graduated from Little Wound High School in 1990 where he excelled in sports such as football and basketball. He attended United Tribe Technical College in ND and SIPI in NM.

Adrian worked various jobs building houses and as a driver for the EMS.He helped in the construction of the Prairie Winds casino, Mni Wiconi Water Treatment plant in Ft. Pierre SD. Adrian also served the Pine Ridge area as a Public Safety Officer.

He was very athletic, playing in basketball tournaments, and softball tournaments with the Wakpamni Lakers and Rockford Royals. Often volunteering his time to umpire. In 2001, he had a beautiful daughter he was so proud of, Nalani Tacita.

Adrian grew up hunting and fishing with his dad. He had numerous friends and was such a caring person always calling and checking in on them. If he can help someone then he would, often giving his last dollars. To his last breath he loved his mom and believed in GOD. He will be missed by many and always remembered for his booming laugh and sense of humor.

Adrian is survived by his mother, Christine Hollow Horn; daughter, Nalonai Hollow Horn; siblings, Harold Hollow Horn, Jr., Reginald Hollow Horn, Debbie Hollow Horn, and Trina Hollow Horn; aunt, Elfreda Wounded Horse; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Adrian was preceded in death by his father, Harold Hollow Horn, Sr.; sister, Anita Whirlwind Horse; and grandparents, Howard and Hazel (Hatchet) Wounded Horse.

Pallbearers will be Waylon Black Crow, Jr., Beau Black Crow, Sr., Wilbur Buckman, Jr., Rowayne Whirlwind Horse, Jonathan Wounded Horse, Berdell Shott, Jr., Eric Hollow Horn, and Lyndon Hollow Horn.

Honorary pallbearers will be Trina Hollow Horn & Family, Reginald Hollow Horn & Family, Deborah Hollow Horn & Family, Harold Hollow Horn & Family, Alton Black Tail, Sr., Alton Black Tail Deer, Jr., Hattie White Butterfly, Robert Stover, Jr., Dean Red Owl & Family, Waylone Black Crow, Sr., Lovey Buckman, Esther Buckman & Family, Jarrett Left Hand, Julian Bear Runner, Sioux & Maya Janis, Darvis Weston, Jr. Rod, One Horn Family, Black Bear Family, Feather Earring Family, Black Crow Family, Has No Horse Family, Two Crow Family, Yellow Hair Family, Two Lance Family, Ross Family, and All Friends & Relatives.
