Funeral services for 63-year old Albert Curry Jr are Sunday, July 31, 2022 at 10:00 at the Curry residence, 7 miles east of Kyle, SD, with traditional Lakota services by Chris Brooks

Burial is at the Inestimable Gift Episcopal Cemetery in Allen, SD

A one-night wake service starts Sat, July 30, at 1:00 at the Curry residence with Military Roll Call at 8:00 PM.

 
Albert Curry Jr “Mni Waza Wica” was born on June 13, 1959, in Pine Ridge, SD, to Beatrice Tallman and Albert Curry Sr. Albert Jr made his journey to the Spirit World on July 23, 2022, at his home near Kyle.

Albert is survived by his children, Cecelia Curry of Sacramento, CA, Michael (Monique) & Yamni Curry, all of Allen, SD, Beatrice Curry, Shane Curry, and Shavonne Cottier, all of Martin, SD, Celena Red Owl of Kyle, SD, Michelle (Roger) Mills, both of Sharp’s Corner, SD, Julissa Poor Bear of California, Delilah Curry of Minneapolis, MN, and Arrow Curry, Matteyah Curry, and Lacey DuBray, all of Rapid City, SD; siblings, Devonna Lone Wolf of Martin, SD, Faith Richards of Allen, SD, Wilma Colhoff of Pine Ridge, SD, Tanya Priestly of Delaware, Mari Curry of Las Vegas, NV, Elmer Fire Thunder of North Carolina, and Abraham Curry & William Curry, both of Cheyenne, WY; and numerous grandchildren.

Albert was preceded in death by his son, Larvern Curry; parents, Beatrice Tallman and Albert Curry Sr; Hunka mom, Gertie Yankton; siblings, Gino Curry, Jeff Curry Sr, and Wauneta Lone Wolf; nieces, Annie Poor Bear and Shelley Poor Bear; and nephews, Jay Doyle, Malcolm DuBray, Arlin Bissonette, and Jeff Curry Jr.
