Aleta Marion Morrison was born on July 21, 1961 in Pine Ridge, SD to John Lame, Sr. and Berna Kindle. Aleta made her journey to the Spirit World on December 9, 2020 at the St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN.
Aleta is survived by her spouse, Oris Morrison, Sr. of Oglala, SD; daughters, Amanda Simmons of Sacramento, CA and Randi Morrison of Lawrence, KS; sons, Joseph Morrison, Jonathan Morrison, and Bodie Morrison all of Oglala, SD, and Oris Morrison, Jr. of Lawrence, KS; brother, Gerald Lame of St. Francis, SD; aunts, Kate & Kathy Kindle both of Oglala, SD; and grandchildren, Samantha Simmons, Ann Aleta Simmons, Kameron Morrison, Nevayah Running Horse-Morrison, and Gail Red Hawk.
Aleta was preceded in death by her mother, Verna Kindle; father, John Lame, Sr.; son, Blue Chance Morrison; sisters, Adele Lame and Darlene Lame; and brother, Robert Lame.
Pallbearers will be Amanda Simmons, Joseph Morrison, Oris Morrison, Jr., Jonathan Morrison, Bodie Morrison, Randi Morrison, Travis Pipe On Head, and Morgan Clarke.
