Alliance authorities say a house fire around dawn Thursday in Alliance was intentionally set, but there have been no arrests or suspects identified publicly and the case remains under investigation.
Alliance Fire Chief Troy Shoemaker says the determination of arson was made following an investigation and interviews by the State Fire Marshal’s office.
Fire crews limited the 6:30 a-m blaze to a single room in the basement. An adult woman and a juvenile male were in the home and were taken to Box Butte General Hospital for observation due to potential smoke inhalation.
