Anthony DuBray was born on June 25, 1956 in Pine Ridge, SD to Pershing DuBray and Velma Clairmont. Tony made his journey to the Spirit World on May 11, 2021 in Butte, MT.
Tony didn’t just have friends or relatives, he had brothers and sisters – everyone was family in his eyes. There are so many to name and so many to remember.
First off, let’s start with the DuBray Family, Iron Cloud Family, Peters Family, Lester Jack & Family, Dusty Nelson & Family, Leo & Patty Eagle Bull, Bob White, Warfield Moose & Family, Brewer Family, Chase Families, Ice Families, Mo Morgan & Family, All Sundancers Far and Wide, North American Indian Alliance, every single soul in Montana & Nebraska that befriended and cared for him the last few years.
If we forgot you, we apologize…we are forgetful like him but we don’t smoke like him.
He was governed by the laws of physics as are all living things. It is a scientific fact that hearts and clocks slow down as they approach the speed of light where matter is converted into energy.
Our dad’s heart reached that speed on May 11, 2021, converting his matter into energy and into pure white light. Though he is no longer with us, he is all around us.
Our dad was in a sense “you had to know” kind of soul. He had to prove his toughness regardless of when and where. His music told his life. Family was his pride and foundation, his culture was his love! A contagious smile that could make you laugh, a tempter to test you, cussing to drive you insane, and a laugh you could hear for miles.
Tony is survived by his mother, Velma Clairmont; children, Toni Rae (Lawrence John) Eagle Bull, Emily (Veronica) Richards, and Michael (Katherine) DuBray; Buckman; grandchildren, Anthony, Ethan, Laura, Kiarra, Dennis, Luke, Lizzy, Hayle, Leo, Logan, Lawrence, George, La’Rae, Makiyah, Kameron, Baby Mike, and Jeremy; sisters, Patricia (John) Goytia and Sallie (Aaron) DeSersa; brothers, Alvin Iron Cloud and Will Peters; aunts, Marcella (DuBray) Iron Cloud and Eugenia Aguilero; nieces and nephews, Marcy, Mariah, Waylon, Mahpiya, and Julius; and lots and lots of brothers and siter, literally too many to name.
Anthony was preceded in death by his father, Pershing DuBray; hunka ate’ & Ina, James & Florine DuBray; and step-daughter, Wendi Buckman.
Pallbearers will be Carlos Orozco, Waylon Gaddie, Mark Iron Cloud, Alvin Iron Cloud, Jr., Logan Standing Bear, Luke Standing Bear, Leo Briley Eagle Bull, Lawrence John Eagle Bull, and Tyrell Sitting Holy.
