The 8th annual Harvest Moon Fall Festival Saturday from 9-5 at the Dawes County Fairground in Chadron.
Northwest Nebraska Tourism Director Kerri Rempp is excited by the wide range of activities and vendors on the schedule.
Area resident Julie Lawrence started the Festival and held it at the Box Butte County Fairgrounds, but felt last year it had outgrown the facilities and decided to move the Festival to Chadron. Chamber of Commerce Director Gabby Michna’s glad she did.
With the Harvest Moon Festival moving to Chadron, the chamber dropped its own HarvestFest and has been working closely with Lawrence. Michna likes the way Lawrence incorporates fundraisers for non-profit organizations into the festival.
Michna is impressed with the range of groups taking part in Harvest Moon.
Michna is expecting to see a good crowd, but recognizes some visitors will be wearing masks and some won’t. She’s encouraging both groups to be respectful of each other.
