Rapid City police are searching for three suspects believed to have stolen some 40 guns from a gun shop early Wednesday morning .
Police Capt. John Olson calls it a “large-scale gun theft” that is “highly concerning for law enforcement.”
Officers responding about 3:30 a.m. to a report of an alarm discovered a glass door on the shop’s main entrance had been shattered.
Surveillance video showed two suspects inside the store, one of them shattering various display cases with a baseball bat, while a third suspect is seen outside.
Police are working with the business to determine the specific guns that were taken.
