Loading

The Chadron Chamber of Commerce announced its 2021 awards Thursday during the first Bands on Bordeaux concert. Voting took place later than normal this year and didn’t wrap up until this summer.

Presented with the Lifetime Service Award was Tina McLain. In the 3 decades since moving to Chadron with her husband, Dr Jerry McLain, and their family, Tina has been active in a wide range of community groups and projects.

She’s probably best-known for her time on the Chadron Public Library Board and as the long-time head of Chadron Community Recreation.

Receiving both the Magic Key Award for long-time service to the community above and beyond the norm and the Volunteer of the Year Award were David and Diana Bauerkemper.

Retired long-time Extension Agent Don Huls, also a long-time leader of Ride the Ridge and the Chamber Ag Banquet, was given the Committee Volunteer Award, while Jane Ramm was named the Chamber Ambassador of the Year.

Selected as the Small Business of The Year was Just Love Coffee, with Chadron State College the Large Business of The Year, and Platte Valley Bank the New Chamber Member of the Year for 2021.
