Chadron Claims 7th At North Platte Invite Posted by Jeremy Anderson Date: September 19, 2020 182 Views Photo Courtesy: Jill Paopao The Chadron High softball team had it’s 4-game winning streak snapped at the North Platte Tournament on Saturday but recovered to finish in 7th place. Chadron briefly grabbed a 1-0 advantage in the top of the 2nd inning in their opener against North Platte, but the Bulldogs responded with 5 runs of their own in the bottom of the inning and never gave up the lead, winning 12-4. Kennedy Stack blasted a home run and had a pair of Chadron RBI’s in the loss. The Lady Cardinals stubbed their toe late in a consolation semifinal loss to Gering. Chadron led 6-5 heading in to the bottom of the 4th inning before Gering exploded for 8 runs in the bottom of the inning. Stack, Kristin Rasmussen, and Ella O’Brien each had a pair of RBI’s. Chadron beat Alliance for the 4th time this season, 9-4, to earn their 7th place finish. Maci Rutledge pitched a complete game, striking out 4 while giving up 5 hits and 4 runs. Rutledge also drove in a pair of runs and Allie Watson scattered a pair of hits. The Cards will host Gering in their final home game of the season on Tuesday.
