The Chadron City Council meets tonight at 6:00 with a full agenda that includes Mayor Mark Werner delivering his first “State of the City” remarks.
Council members are expected to approve resolutions to call $3.7-million dollars in bonds issued in 2016 for construction of the Aquatics and Wellness Center and to replace them with $3.2-million in new bonds at lower interest rates.
By lowering the rates and extending the length of the bonds, the city will no longer need to use general funds to supplement the annual bond payments.
Zoning/Building Official Janet Johnson will give the annual report on 2020 building permits while Interim City Manager Milo Rust will give an update on the Essential Air Service bids from 4 airlines for the Chadron-Denver route.
The council meeting will also be held on Zoom or can be viewed on Great Plains Cable channel 19 or online on the city’s YouTube channel.
