Hershey Freshman Alex Beveridge went for a career high 27 points and the Panthers held Chadron without a 4th quarter field goal in beating the Cardinals 56-41 in the semifinals of the C1-12 girls sub-district tournament on Tuesday.
Chadron trailed by 17 in the 3rd quarter but was able to cut the deficit down to single digits on two separate occasions before the Panthers closed the period on a 4-0 run for a 13 point lead.
Neither team made a basket in the 4th quarter and Hershey held the ball for more than half of the quarter while running out the clock.
Demi Ferguson led the Cardinals with 11 while Marlee Pinnt added 10.
Chadron says goodbye to two Seniors in Jacey Garrett and Macey Daniels and ends the season at 13-10.
