Chadron Girls 3rd, Boys 5th At Conference XC

For the first time this season the Chadron High girls cross country team didn’t take first place at a meet, but the Lady Cards still had a more than solid showing at the Western Conference Meet in Sidney on Saturday.

Grace Pyle claimed 5th place in the girls race with a time of 21:11, followed by Makinley Fuller in 6th with her time of 21:24.

Mackenzie Anderson was the third Cardinal across the line in 10th place while Aliyah Mills and Macaiah Fuller were 16th and 17th to round out the squad.

Chadron finished 3rd in team scoring with a 37. Gering and Scottsbluff tied with 33.

Carter Ryan continued his run of top 10 finishes, crossing the line in a new personal best 17:38 to take 5th in the boys race.

Gavin Slaon was 14th and Caden Galbraith was 18th. Nathan Burch crossed in 20th place and Garrett Reece was 25th.

Gering won the boys championship with a 24. Sidney had 37 points for 2nd place, followed by Scottsbluff in 3rd with 55. Chadron ended just behind with 57.

The Cardinal varsity teams will be off the course until districts on October 15th in Ogallala.
