Chadron Using Cameras To Check Out Sewer Lines

CHADRON – Residents of the east side of Chadron north of Hwy 20 are going to have working guests for the next couple weeks as contract workers use tv cameras and jets of water to determine the condition of the city’s sewer lines in that area.

Utilities Superintendent Tom Menke says the city has used sewer cameras for 3 decades to check the condition of lines from the inside, but hasn’t been able to check this part of the city for several years.

Menke says crews will be using trucks and ATVs to access manholes and lower cameras into the sewer lines. The city has been trying to let know residents know of the coming work by leaving door hangers.
