Once the dust settled on the 2nd day of the NSAA State wrestling championships, Chadron’s Kenli Boeselager and Gordon-Rushville’s Ashton Dane will now wrestle for back to back state titles and Chadron’s Quinn Bailey will take aim at his first.

Boeselager overcame a rough first period and held off Maggie Fiene of Conestoga in the girls 145-lb semifinals. Boeselager will face Emma Stice of Papillion-LaVista in the championship.

Dane, who is trying to take home hardware from all four of his state appearances, needed just 53-seconds to pin his Class C 113-lb semifinal opponent Chastin Stanek of North Bend Central. Dane meets Ayden Wintz of Battle Creek for the crown.

Bailey stumbled in the semi’s last season but redeemed himself by defeating Caden Eggelston of Beatrice by a narrow 3-2 decision to advance to his first ever championship match. Bailey, the top seed at 152-lbs, will wrestle Garrett Rine of Waverly for gold.

Three more wrestlers are in the consolation semifinals and will come away medalists. Consolation semifinal winners wrestle for 3rd while the losers wrestle for 5th.

Chadron’s Fia Rasmussen lost in her 135-lb championship semifinal on Friday and will take on Arianna Canseco of Gering in her consolation semi. Rhett Cullers of Chadron took the hard route by winning 2nd and 3rd round consolation matches on Friday and will face Sean Stara of Elkhorn at 170-lbs.

Kyler Vincent of Gordon-Rushville fell in his championship semifinal at 138-lbs and has a district final rematch against Luis Co of Chase County.

Matches begin at 8:00 am MT on Saturday morning.
