Chadron’s Pelton, Gordon-Rushville’s Bruns Head To State Golf

The Nebraska girls class A, B, and C state golf meets will be the first state championships to be held, since COVID-19 ended high school sports schedules back in mid-March, when they tee off on Monday.

Chadron’s Maddi Pelton is in the Class B field after a top ten finish at districts last week, making her a four time state qualifier.

Pelton will be paired Abigail York of York and Eleanor Mangan of Duchesne Academy for a 9:30 am tee time off of hole #1 at Monument Shadows golf course in Gering.

Defending team state champion Scottsbluff is the early favorite to repeat as champs.

Gordon-Rushville’s Abigail Bruns is competing at the Class C meet at the Elks Country Club in Columbus. Bruns is making a repeat trip after qualifying last season.

Bruns will be paired with Graycee Oeltjen of Broken Bow and Lorelei Bassinger of Syracuse and will tee off on hole #1 at 9:54 am.
