Funeral services for 30-year old Chantz High Hawk are Thurs, Nov 26, 2020 at noon at the High Hawk residence in Wounded Knee, SD, with Minister Cyrus Black Elk Sr officiating and traditional Lakota Services by Mr David Swallow Jr

Burial is at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Wounded Knee

Chantz LaCoy High Hawk was born on February 24, 1990 in Minneapolis, MN to John T. High Hawk and Noretta F. Fights Over. Chantz made his journey to the Spirit World on November 13, 2020 at his home in Wounded Knee, SD.

Chantz is survived by his mother, Noretta F. Fights Over of Wounded Knee, SD; father, John T. High Hawk of Custer, SD; sons, Oscar J. High Hawk and Peyton L. High Hawk, both of Wounded Knee, SD; and siblings, Tad H. High Hawk, Dakota T. High Hawk and Lariah High Hawk, all of Wounded Knee, SD. 

Chantz was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Gertrude M. Thunder Horse and Matthew Fights Over, Sr.; maternal great grandparents, Alex Paul Thunder Horse, Mary Bad Bear, Edward Fights Over and Fannie Mountain Sheep; paternal grandmother, Virginia Kills Crow Indian; paternal great grandparents, Aloysius Kills Crow Indian and Julia Bird Head; and uncles, Nathan Elk, Sr. and Jerry Elk.

Pallbearers will be Delane Iron Boy, Cyrus “CJ” Black Elk, Jr., Justin Elk, Ethan Mills, Lloyd Elk, Jarrett Jealous of Him, Mark Buckman, Anthony Vocu and Corey Short Bear.
