Graveside services for 24-year old Cheyenne Whirlwind Horse are Monday, August 10, 2020 at 7:00 PM at the Native American Church Cemetery in Potato Creek, SD, with Minister Jeff Not Help Him officiating and traditional Lakota services by Mike Little Boy Sr and Mike Little Boy Jr
Visitation is August 10 from 3:00-6:00 PM at the Sioux Funeral Home in Pine Ridge, SD.
Cheyenne Renee Whirlwind Horse was born on September 18, 1995 in Minneapolis, MN to Kenneth Peake and Roxanne Whirlwind Horse. Cheyenne made her journey to the Spirit World on August 4, 2020 in Pine Ridge, SD.
Cheyenne is survived by her siblings, Andre Whirlwind Horse of Pine Ridge, SD, Felix Whirlwind Horse of Minneapolis, MN, and Elissa Whirlwind Horse of Rapid City, SD; father, Kenneth Peake of Minneapolis, MN; grandparents, Freda Whirlwind Horse of Pine Ridge, SD, Wildebeest Peake and Florence Peake both of Minneapolis, MN; aunts, Charlotte Dismounts Thrice of Pine Ridge, SD, Jolene Whirlwind Horse and Carmen Whirlwind Horse both of Minneapolis, MN, and Mary Whirlwind Horse and Theresa Whirlwind Horse both of Allen, SD; and numerous nieces & nephews.
Cheyenne was preceded in death by her mother, Roxanne Whirlwind Horse; son, Damien Whirlwind Horse; grandfather, Wayne Whirlwind Horse; niece, Tia Handley; uncles, Rodney Dismounts Thrice and Lenny Dismounts Thrice; and aunt, Sherree Whirlwind Horse.
Pallbearers will be Darrell Hernandez, Antonio Hernandez, Jesse Wetsover, Dion Quick Bear, Waylon Means, and Jacob Wanamaker.
