“Christian Worship Hour” Host Pastor Harold Salem Dead At 99

Pastor Harold E Salem, who preached the gospel on television with the Christian Worship Hour for over 40 years, died Friday morning at age 99.

       Salem, a Belle Fourche native, began his preaching career as pastor of the First Baptist Church of Belle Fourche in 1944, then answered a call to First Baptist of Aberdeen in 1957 – where he remained until retiring in 2010.

     The Christian Worship Hour began on a single TV station in Jan 1979 and eventually expanded worldwide through radio and television. KOTA in Rapid City and KDUH in Scottsbluff were among the first stations to carry the program.
