Funeral services for 18-year old Daysha Storm Mesteth will be Tuesday, May 5, 2020, at noon at the Woyatan Lutheran Church in Rapid City, SD with Minister Jonathan Old Horse officiating and traditional Lakota services by Mr Merle Left Hand Bull
Burial services will be Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the Pine Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Rapid City.
A one-night wake service starts at 11:00 AM, Monday, May 4, 2020 at 11:00 AM at the Woyatan Lutheran Church in Rapid City.
Daysha Storm Mesteth was born on August 9, 2001 in Miles City, to Damon Mesteth and Lorna Thompson. Daysha made her journey to the Spirit World on April 20, 2020 at the Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City, SD.
Daysha is survived by her parents, Lorna L. Thompson and Damon Mesteth both of Rapid City, SD; siblings, Alena, Crista, and Dollie Thompson all of Rapid City, SD; brothers, Sungmanitu “Shugie” Thompson, Dayton Mesteth, and twin brothers Tommy and Lonny Thompson all of Rapid City, SD; paternal grandmother, Irena Clifford of California; and numerous aunties, uncles, cousins, and all her friends.
Daysha was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Larry L. Thompson and Helen Verna Yellow Bear-Thompson; great grandmother, Celeste Thompson-Peneaux; aunt, Diane Thompson; grandmother, Serena Yellow Bear; paternal great grandparents, Franny Siers and Paul Clifford, Sr.; and grandparents, Paul Todd Clifford, Jr. and Cynthia Mesteth.
Pallbearers will be her brothers and sisters to take Daysha to her final resting place and all her friends.
Honorary pallbearers will be her aunty, Dawn Howling Wolf and family, Michael Brought Plenty & Family, Lisa Iron Shell & Family, Lloyd Big Crow, Dennis Running Shield, and All Her Family and Friends.
