Funeral services for 60-year old Ivan Dale Tobacco are Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 11:00 at the Makasan Presbyterian Church Hall in Oglala, SD, with the Rev Asa Wilson officiating.

Burial is in the Drywood Cemetery in #6 Community of Oglala, SD

A two-night wake service starts Thursday, August 19, at 4:00, also at the Makasan Presbyterian Church Hall in Oglala.

Ivan Dale Tobacco “Hesapa Hoskila” was born on August 21, 1960 in Rushville, NE to Calvin “Scoop” Tobacco and Molly Blacksmith.  Ivan made his journey to the Spirit World on August 7, 2021 near Oglala, SD.

Ivan is survived by his mother, Molly Blacksmith; children, Edwina (Paul Bravo, Sr.) Tobacco, Kelsey (Cody Walking) Tobacco, Deidra Tobacco, Deanna Tobacco, and Kyle Tobacco; grandchildren, Kayla (Teeman Slow Bear) Bravo, Paul Bravo, Jr., Shaylia Bravo, Kaleb Bravo, Baylee Bravo, Vinney Farmer, Jr., Nicholas Eagle Louse, Ryanna Bissonette, Danielle Bissonette, Taelyn Eagle Louse, Daciah Featherman, Cassian Tobacco, Riley Bear Robe, Carmelo Red Cloud, and Paisleigh Janis; great grandchildren, Baby Girl Bissonette, Hayden Walking, Nathan Slow Bear, and Kylar Bissonette; brothers, Eldon Tobacco and Calvert “CL” Tobacco; sister, Velvedene “Willy Jo” Wounded Horse; and aunts, Regina “Donut” Tobacco and Karyn “Ginger” Tobacco.

Ivan was preceded in death by his father, Calvin Tobacco; maternal grandparents, Theresa Sounding Side and Leo Blacksmith; maternal great grandmother, Suzie Chief; paternal grandparents, Irene Wounded and Vicnent Tobacco I; paternal great grandparents, Lillian Standing Bear and Archie Tobacco; children, Ivan C. Tobacco, Bradlee Tobacco and Kayla Tobacco; grandson, Josiah Featherman; special grandfather, Solaman Little Killer; close aunt, Patricia Brings Plenty; special uncle, Jay White Whirlwind; sister, Janelle Tobacco; and aunts & uncles, Henrietta (Tobacco) Cross Dog, Bernadette Tobacco, Dugan F. Tobacco, Sr., Harold Tobacco, and Vincent “Roger” Tobacco.

Pallbearers will be Michael Pettigrew, Marty Tobacco, Ed Fire Thunder, Steve Wilson, Leroy Lame, Jr., Maka Moves Camp, Reagan Short Bull, Paul Bravo, Sr., and Dale Warrior, Jr.
