Louella “Lulu” Lone Hill

Funeral services for 54-year old Louella “Lulu” Lone Hill are Thursday, June 4, 2020 at 10:30 AM at the Porcupine Presbyterian Church in Porcupine, SD, with Pastor Stanley Hollow Horn officiating and traditional Lakota services.

Burial services will be at the Porcupine Presbyterian Cemetery

A one-night wake service starts at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at 3:00 PM at the Louella Lone Hill Residence in Porcupine.

Louella “Lulu” Lone Hill ”Wakinyan Ob Mani Win” was born on October 29, 1965 in Pine Ridge, SD to Lewellyn Lone Hill and Ethel (Weston) Lone Hill. Louella made her journey to the Spirit World on May 28, 2020 at the Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD.

Louella attended K-8th grade and graduated from Porcupine Day School and attended Pine Ridge High School for a couple of years. Lulu took a break, then completed her GED from Oglala Lakota College and attended one semester there.

Lulu was the youngest child, “the baby”, and being very inquisitive and talkative since before she was a year old. She had her own special way in life. Lulu had a friendly and outgoing personality that attracted people to her. Most of all, Lulu was a very spiritual person and learned from her experiences throughout her lifetime.

Louella is survived by her sister & niece, Karen Lone Hill and Kim Wilson; brothers, Sidney (Thelma) Lone Hill, Lester (Dee) Lone Hill, and Leonard (Sandy White Eyes) Lone Hill, hunka brother, Thunder Wolf; aunt, Eleanor Weston; nephews, Randall Lone Hill, Sean Lone Hill, and Lenny Lone Hill; nieces, Dena Lone Hill, Jeannie Lone Hill, Andrea Lone Hill, Kiri Close, and Cedar Lone Hill; Mesteth Sister/Brother Cousins, Weston Sister/Brother Cousins, Two Eagle-Bush Sister/Brother Cousins, and Rock-Lone Hill Sister/Brother Cousins.

Louella was preceded in death by her parents, Lewellyn and Ethel (Weston) Lone Hill; sister, Verla Mae Lone Hill; brothers, Lamoine Pulliam, Dean Lone Hill, and James Lone Hill; grandparents, Sidney & Bessie (Rock) Lone Hill and Reuben & Susanne (White Bull) Weston; great grandparents, Amos & Sally (Robinson) Lone Hill, Samuel & Mary (Grass) Rock, Samuel K. & Martha (Red Wing) Weston, and Richard & Ella (Pine Bird) White Bull.

Honorary pallbearers will be Circle of Life, Monument Health I.C.U. Doctors, Monument Health Wound Care, Rehab Nurses & Aides, Lakota Medicine Men, All Sundancers, and All Friends & Relatives.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Cournoyer, Michael Brooks, Charles “CG” Galvin, Virgil “Chug Bush” Two Eagle, Sr., Reuben Charles Weston, Tyler Clifford, Aaron Black Bull, Zayne Weston, and Elijah Brooks.
