Funeral services for 78-year old Pearl C’Bearing are Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at 10:00 at the Makasan Presbyterian Church Hall in Oglala, SD, with Sister Barb Bogenschutz officiating.

Burial is at St Agnes Catholic Cemetery in Manderson

A two-night wake service starts Monday, August 30, at 2:00, also at the Makasan Presbyterian Church Hall in Oglala

Pearl Marion (New Holy) C’Bearing was born on February 3, 1942 in Little Grass Creek, SD, to Joseph New Holy, Sr. and Sophia Frog.  Pearl made her journey to the Spirit World on August 19, 2021 at the Monument Health Home Plus Hospice in Rapid City, SD.

Pearl attended Holy Rosary for 12 years and graduated with honors.  She married Valentine J. C’Bearing and had six children: Ruth, Gertrude, Robyn, Eli, Monica, and Corrine.

 Pearl was a professional quill worker and was featured in National Geographic.  Her hobbies included painting, sewing, crafting, gardening, and fishing but her most favorite of all was gambling at the casinos.  

Pearl is survived by daughters, Ruth M. C’Bearing, Gertrude H. C’Bearing, and Robyn F. C’Bearing; son, Eli J. C’Bearing; siblings, Evelyn New Holy and Lucille Bores A Hole; grandchildren, Nicole M. C’Bearing, Bonnie R. Sits Poore, Ehani Sits Poore, Kimimila L. Sits Poore, Summer R. Marshall, Autumn R. Marshall, Joshua Marshall, Clint Marshall, Jr., Bryce Marshall, Tristan C’Bearing, Erin C’Bearing, Reece C’Bearing, Elise C’Bearing, Todd C’Bearing, Bailey C’Bearing, and Alyssa C’Bearing; great grandchildren, Molly Swallow, Violet Marshall, Solara Sits Poore, and Jeremiah Goode; and numerous nieces & nephews.

Pearl was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph New Holy, Sr. and Sophia New Holy; brothers, Thomas P. New Holy, Joseph New Holy, Jr., Theodore J. New Holy, and Norman New Holy; sister, Grace Ann New Holy; daughters, Monica V. C’Bearing and Corrine R. C’Bearing; granddaughter, Mahpiya Win C’Bearing; grandson, Richard Scott; great granddaughter, Monica Verna Swallow; spouse, Valentine J. C’Bearing; half brothers, Ambrose New Holy, Sr., Aloysius New Holy, and Daniel New Holy; half sister, Alice New Holy Blue Legs; hunka sister, Verna Yellow Horse; and nephew, Hoksila New Holy.

Pallbearers will be Tristan C’Bearing, Erin C’Bearing, Vincente Montez, Peji Yellow Bull, Montgomery Montez, Willis Montez, Wade Stoldt, Ray Stoldt, Jr., Christopher New Holy, and Denato Two Bulls.

Honorary pallbearers will be C’Bearing Family, New Holy Family, Blue Legs Family, Bear Robe Family, Bores A Hole Family, Marshall Family, Yellow Horse Family, Yellow Hair Family, Moves Camp Family, Blacksmith Family, Montez Family, Davis Family, Pipe On Head Family, and All Friends & Relatives.
