Burial is at the Salway Family Cemetery, east of Allen
A one-night wake service starts Friday, April 23, at noon, also at the Inestimable Gift Church in Allen, SD
Ramona Jeanette Nelson-Tallman “Igluwiyan Un Win” was born on Oct 5, 1932 in Allen, SD to Patrick Eugene Nelson and Sally Little Hoop-Nelson. Ramona made her journey to the Spirit World on April 10, 2021 at the Bennett County Nursing Home in Martin, SD.
Ramona is survived by her daughters, Arlene, Joyce, and Mary all of Allen, SD and Amelia of Farmington, NM; sons, Leon, Harvey and Norman, all of Allen, SD; 23 grandchildren and 1great-great grandchild, Rebecca Reiser; and nieces/nephews, Lynore & Egan Longman, Wilma Shot With Arrow, Theresa Black Horse, Ben Leonard, and Wilma Leonard.
Ramona was preceded in death by her spouse, Vernon Tallman, parents, Patrick Eugene Nelson and Sally Little Hoop-Nelson; siblings, Cecelia Mae Nelson-Longman, Pauline Sophie Nelson-Big Crow, Delbert Nelson, and Nancy Grace Nelson-Black Horse; children, Colleen, Brian (Stillborn) and Marvin; grandparents, Tom & Suzy Salway-Nelson; great grandchild, Warren V. Zephier; and nieces/nephews, Phoebe, Florence, Jeanette, Doreen, Sally, Emma, Donald, Darwin, Sidney and Patrick.
Pallbearers will be Curtis Conroy, Taylor Conroy, Harlen Garnette, Stacy Garnette, Deswoodnez Jaquez, Nabahenez Jaquez, Patrick Tallman, Lonnie Tallman, Matthew Tallman, Johnathan Tallman, Vernon Plenty Bull, Daniel Plenty Bull, Donovan Plenty Bull, Rayfield Little Whiteman, Linn Little Whiteman, Josef Little Whiteman, Billy Featherman and Charlotte Tallman.
