Funeral services for 64-year-old Reuben David Wounded Head are  Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 1:00 at the Wounded Head Residence in Potato Creek, SD, with Kim Montileaux & The Grillo family officiating

Burial is at St Timothy’s Cemetery in Potato Creek.

A two-night wake service starts Thursday, August 19, 2021 at 10:00, also at the Wounded Head Residence in Potato Creek, SD.

Reuben David Wounded Head was born on January 25, 1957 in Pine Ridge, SD to Joshua Wounded Head and Louise Shot With Arrow. Reuben made his journey to the Spirit World on August 12, 2021 in Lake Norden, SD.

Reuben was known to most as “David,” who was a strong and humble man. He always put his family first in everything he did. He loved his wife with all his heart and loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren a whole bunch.

David was always busy doing things outdoors and was always walking or playing with the grandchildren, showing them and teaching them how to work on cars or build things. He loved to be at home with family as much as he could.

Reuben is survived by his spouse, Anita (Morrison) Wounded Head; sons, Reuben Wounded Head, Caleb Wounded Head, John Wounded Head, Charles Wounded Head, and Joseph Wounded Head; daughters, Charmaine Wounded Head, Sharon Wounded Head, Angela Wounded Head, Tangela Wounded Head, Charlene Cottier, Khole Wounded Head, Markia Wounded Head, and Markayla Wounded Head; siblings, Dennis Wounded Head and Devonna Wounded Head; grandchildren, Artemsa Wounded Head, Reuben Wounded Head III, Erella Wounded Head, Soraya Wounded Head, Solara Wounded Head, Cesslie Yellow Thunder, Mariah Yellow Thunder, Joseph Yellow Thunder, Jr., Adaleah Chipps, Charlotte Chipps, Sharla Cortier, Sharlee Cortier, Virgil Bird, Jr., Charles Wounded Head, Cleveland Joseph Wounded Head, Jr., Deimos Wounded Head, Juanita Wounded Head, Allyana Wounded Head, Alazar Wounded Head, Caleb Wounded Head, Jr., Caleeciah Wounded Head, Kaleb Wounded Head, Jr., Kalen Wounded Head, Joseph Wounded Head, Jr., and Shalene Red Bird; and great-grandchildren, Roman, Ila, and Aviana Roybal.

Reuben was preceded in death by his parents, Joshua Wounded Head and Louise Shot With Arrow; son, Cleveland Wounded Head, Sr.; siblings, Dale Wounded Head, Delmar Wounded Head, Ronald Shot With Arrow, Charles Shot With Arrow, Darlene Wounded Head, Myrnette Wounded Head, Myrna Wounded Head, and Isabell Wounded Head; granddaughter, Hailee Wounded Head; great grandchildren, Joela Wounded Head, Joshua Wounded Head, Richard Wounded Head, and Jacob Chipps; and in-laws, Lynell Morrison, Waylon Cash, James McLaughlin & Jaimee Morrison, Doris Good Voice Elk-Morrison and Alphonso Morrison, Sr.
