COVID-19 Survivor Dies In Truck Crash

  A Kimball man who gained a measure of public attention last March as one of the first Panhandle residents to contract COVID-19, become hospitalized on a ventilator, and ultimately recover has died in a Panhandle traffic accident.

       Garden County Sheriff Michelle Quinn says John Aguiniga died Monday afternoon of injuries suffered in a one-vehicle crash on a county road northeast of Oshkosh shortly after 4:30.

       Sheriff Quinn says Aguiniga was driving a commercial semi hauling a side-dump trailer of manure when the accident occured. The investigation remains active with authorities trying to determine the chain of events that led up to the fatal crash.
