COVID Cases Growing In Wyo Prisons, But Still No Deaths

Wyoming Corrections Director Dan Shannon says almost a quarter of the inmates in the state system have tested positive for COVID-19.

Shannon told the Legislature’s Joint Appropriations Committee on Friday that the system has done well compared to neighboring states struggling with COVID-19 in prisons.

Wyoming is among 6 states with no prison-system deaths.

Shannon said 20% of corrections staff have tested positive and 33% have had to isolate because they tested positive or had other known exposure.
