COVID Vaccine Arrives In Nebraska

Nebraska has received its first shipments of the new COVID-19 vaccine from Pfizer. Chief State Medical Officer Dr Gary Anthone says the initial shipments had arrived at two hospitals by mid-morning Monday.

The state is using the same distribution system it uses for other vaccines and Gov Pete Ricketts says the first week’s allotment of 15,600 doses went to 8 hospitals in eastern and central Nebraska

Ricketts initially expected to get more than 100,000 combined doses this month of the Pfizer vaccine and one from Moderna that’s expected to be approved this week, but he’s not sure now exactly how many doses of each will be coming before New Year’s.
