CSC Grad Identified As Victim Of Rollover Accident South Of MartinPosted by John AxtellDate: September 18, 20201989 ViewsThe South Dakota Highway Patrol says a Martin-area ranch worker and Chadron State College graduate was the man killed Saturday afternoon in a one-vehicle rollover accident about 2 miles south of Martin on Hwy 73. 35-year old Kiel (Kyle) Cook died when he was ejected from his pickup when he lost control and it rolled after going into the ditch. Cook was born in Gordon, but grew up in South Dakota. He was the last 8th grade graduate of Tuthill Elementary School and went on to be Salutatorian for his Bennett County High School graduating class in 2003. A rodeo competitor in high school, Cook went into banking after graduating from Chadron State in 2007, but soon realized ranching was his love and he returned to Martin, where he worked on several ranches and the Cook Cattle Company.
