Curbside Service Only Again For Chadron Public Library

With the recent jump in COVID-19 cases locally, the Chadron Public Library is going back to curbside service only until further notice.

Library Director Rossella Tesch says the decision was made for the safety of both the community and the library staff.

Anyone wishing to checkout materials needs to call the library between 8-5 Monday-Friday to request materials and schedule a pickup time.

City Manager Greg Yanker says that while the city has moved into a more heightened COVID-19 risk level, moving the library back to curbside service is the only real change.

The park bathrooms will now remain closed through the rest of the season, the athletic fields remain under the restrictions in Phase 3 of the governor’s Direct Health Measure, and the aquatic and wellness center remains on modified hours because of staffing issues.

City Hall remains open to the public, but Yanker asks anyone with city business that can’t be handled over the phone make an appointment to reduce exposure. Yanker says the city also asks that all visitors to city hall wear a mask, adding that all employees will wear masks when dealing with the public.
