Funeral services for 35-year old Dakota Shay Reyes-Bibian (Old Horse) are Friday, July 31, 2020 at 5:00 pm at the Powwow Grounds in Kyle, SD, with Minister Jonathan Old Horse officiating and traditional Lakota services by Mr Merle Left Hand Bull

Burial services will be at the Yellow Hawk-Broken Rope Family Cemetery, No Flesh Community, Kyle, SD

A one-day visitation service starts at Friday at noon, also at the Powwow Grounds in Kyle, SD

Horseback riders who want to join the procession to lead Dakota to the Fair Grounds will meet Lakotawin Old Horse at the concrete plant.

Dakota Reyes-Bibian (Old Horse) was born March 23, 1985, in Kearney, Ne, to Carmel M Old Horse of Kyle, South Dakota and Julio Reyes-Bibian. She passed away on Friday, July 13, 2020 at the Woyatan Lutheran Church in Rapid City, SD..

Dakota received her education from Little Wound High School, where she excelled in cheerleading before graduating with the Class of 2004.

Those who knew Dakota can attest to her heart of gold; she would light up a room with her beautiful smile, beautiful brown eyes, and selfless soul. She loved spending time with her family, kids and friends. She always looked forward to her kid’s activities and she enjoyed living life to the fullest.

Dakota was an active member of the Oglala Sioux Tribe.

Dakota leaves to celebrate her life; her parents, Carmel M Old Horse of Kyle So Dak. and Julio Reyes-Bibian. Dakota is the mother of 4 young children, Landon Jon, Kristina Reign, MaryShae Marcine and Samuel August Cryer Yellow Hawk. Her brother’s Jonathan, Shawnee Old Horse of Rapid City So Dak. and Scotty Old Horse of Kyle So. Dak. Her sister’s, Cheyenne White Elk of Sioux Falls So. Dak. Mert Grosz-Garnette, Tease Old Horse of Kyle, So. Dak. Lakotawin Old Horse of Allen, So. Dak. Her grandparents, Gracia and Augustine Reyes-Bibian of Michoacan Mexico and Ralph Jr and Emma Old Horse-White Elk of Kyle, So. Dak. ; as well as numerous cousins, extended family and many, many friends.

Pallbearers will be William Quick Bear, Buck Tallman, Sonny Old Horse, Verlin Old Horse, Baby Jon Old Horse, Shawnee Old Horse, Angel Old Horse, and Gary Garnette, Sr.

Honorary pallbearers: Christy, Ken and Noreen Lone Elk & family, Mary Jo and Bernadine Red Bear & Family, Jessica Heart, Hunka Father-Roger Bird, and All Friends & Relatives.
