Extreme wind gusts of 65 to 75mph have and are continuing to cause damage around Chadron.
The city of Chadron has issued a no travel advisory due to high wind and is asking everyone not to travel unless there is an emergency.
SWANN has reported that dumpsters are moving into streets and want to encourage drivers to be safe. SWANN will return dumpster to their proper locations after the winds have ceased.
Damaged utility poles have led to a short detour of traffic on 3rd St/Hwy 385 around Linden Street in Chadron
NPPD is currently working on restoring power outages, please be alert for down power lines. Chadron Public Schools will be dismissed at 12:45 today.
