A Mass of Christian Burial for 64-year old Daniel “Mike” Brewer will be Tues, August 9, 2022 at 9:00 at the Wolf Creek School Gymnasium co-celebrated by Father Peter Klink and Pastor Chad Dieble with traditional Lakota services provided by  Mr Jerome LeBeaux

Burial follows at 3:00 at the Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, SD

A one-night wake service starts Monday, August 8, at 4:00 at the Wolf Creek School Gymnasium with vigil services and rosary at 7:00 PM by Father Peter Klink, S.J. and worship services by Pastor Chad Deibel with military roll call following.  

Daniel Michael Brewer was born on December 30, 1957 in Los Angeles, CA to William P. Brewer and Arlene (Clifford) Brewer.  Daniel made his journey to the Spirit World on August 1, 2022 at his home in Pine Ridge, SD.

Mike was a devoted supporter of Red Cloud High School basketball.  He served at LNI faithfully for 21 years and supported many rides including 22 years for the Little Big Horn Ride.  

His greatest passion was Indian Relay Racing and the team he owned, Paha Sapa Express.  

Mike was a faithful friend, devoted husband, and a loving stepdad and grandfather.  His warm smile, infectious laughter, and fun sense of humor will be missed by all.  

Daniel “Michael” is survived by his wife, LeEtta Brewer; stepdaughters, Andrea (Brian) Freeman and Deana (Greg) Lash; mother, Arlene C. Brewer; brothers, William “Shorty” (Joyce), Leonard, Richard “DJ”, and Stanley Brewer and Shawn Swallow; uncles, Melvin Brewer and Melvin Clifford; aunts, Karen Nelson, Doris Thibeault, and Patty (Rick) Shangreaux; and numerous nieces, nephews, & grandchildren.

Daniel “Michael” was preceded in death by his father, William P. Brewer; sister, Lori Ann Brewer; grandparents, Daniel & Edith (Pourier) Clifford and Robert & Bessie (Janis) Brewer; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives.  

Pallbearers will be Gene “Popcorn” Tyon, Vince Brewer, Hobert Yankton, Mel Feather Earring, Mike Coleman, Farrell “Bodie” Weston, Ben Black Elk, Brian Freeman, Greg Lash, Kaden Brings Plenty, William “Du” Brewer, Steven P Brewer, Richard J Brewer II, Stanley W. Brewer Jr, and Brian Beetem.

Honorary pallbearers will be Paha Sapa Express, Brew Crew, Dancing Warrior Fast Horse Relay, Long Feather & All Indian Relay Teams, The Big Horn, Crazy Horse & Sobriety Riders, and All Family, Friends & Relatives.
