Funeral services for 80-year old David Mousseau Jr are Sat, March 12, 2022 at noon at Father Pauly Hall in Porcupine, SD, with Deacon Bill White officiating.

Burial follows at 1:00 PM at St Paul’s Catholic Cemetery in Porcupine.

Visitation precedes the funeral from 10:00 – noon at Father Pauly Hall in Porcupine

David Louis Mousseau Jr “Y’aatitaiku”  “Canumpa Ta Unci Yuha Nanji” was born on June 6, 1941 in Albuquerque, NM, to David Mousseau Sr and Juana Louis (Haskaya) Mousseau.  David Jr made his journey to the Spirit World on February 26, 2022

David is survived by his loving wife Geraldine “Kippy” (Leeds) Mousseau; children Duane Mousseau, Desiree Mousseau-Hill, David “Davey” Mousseau, and Damian Mousseau; sister Diane (Mousseau) Cheromiah; grandchildren Xavier Devine, Sabrina (Kerston) Adams, Jonathan Hill, Olivia (Erik) Lucero, and David “Boy” Mousseau; great-grandchildren Isaiah “Mato” Jones, Malia Clark, Kymani Adams, Darius, Kyrin, Tanner, & Ayla Grace Lucero; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.  

David was preceded in death by his father David Mousseau Sr; mother Juana (Hashkaya) Mousseau; grandfather, Juan Louis Hashkaya; grandmother Lupe (Chavez) Hashkaya; father-in-law Wallace Leeds; mother-in-law Julia (Williams) Leeds; brothers-in-law Michael “Mickey” Cheromiah, Wallace “Boy” Leeds, and Albert Yamie Leeds; sisters-in-law Jean (Paisano) Stumbling Bear and Shiela Aragon; and nephew Michael Daniel Cheromiah.  

David L. Mousseau Jr was a very proud veteran who served in the United States Air Force and retired as a Master Sgt. 

Pallbearers will be Duane Mousseau, Jonathan Hill, Isaiah Jones, Ben Cheromiah, Marlin Mousseau, Gerald “Jerry” Mousseau, Chuck Mousseau, and Marei Kingi.
