
A Black Hills couple will each serve 10 years in federal prison for dealing drugs in the Northern Hills for almost a year.
Robert Bartels and Raina Strickland, both 24 and from Whitewood, had pleaded guilty earlier to conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance.
Bartels was sentenced back in August and Strickland last Friday. Both will be supervised release for 5 years after completing their prison terms.
Prosecutors say the couple distributed meth out of hotels in Sturgis and Spearfish from May to December last year. .
The investigation that led to their arrests involved the state Division of Criminal Investigation and the SD Dept of Homeland Security, Rapid City police, Pennington County Sheriff’s Office, and the Unified Narcotics Enforcement Team.
