Funeral Services for 81-year old Dean Jamison of Gordon, NE, are Monday, Feb 7, 2022, at 10:00 at the Bible Baptist Church in Gordon

Burial will be in the Gordon Cemetery.

Visitation is Sunday, Feb 6, from 3-to-5:00 at the Chamberlain-Pier Funeral Home in Gordon.

A memorial has been established for the Gordon Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Unit and donations may be sent in care of Chamberlain-Pier Funeral Home, PO Box 366, Gordon, NE 69343

Berdette Lee “Dean” Jamison was born September 12, 1940, to Robert Lee Jamison and Ellice Irene (Kline) Smith Jamison Downing and passed away on February 1, 2022, at Gordon Memorial Hospital.

Dean was the youngest of six brothers, William ‘Bill’ Smith, George ‘Bud’ Smith, Robert ‘Bobby’ Jamison, Boyd ‘Puz’ Jamison, and Beryle ‘Burr’ Jamison.

He graduated from the University of Nebraska School of Technical Agriculture High School in 1959 and married Shirley JoAnn Stouffer on December 31, 1959, in Hot Springs, SD. To this union, two sons were born; Josh Jamison in 1962 and Tim Jamison in 1965.

Dean pumped gas in Gordon for awhile and then went to work for the Hayward Ranch, south of Rushville, the Jaggers Ranch south of Hay Springs, and the Hull Ranch and Double H Irrigation near Gordon.

Dean and JoAnn purchased a farm northwest of Gordon while working for Jaggers in 1969 and moved to it in 1973,. They spent the rest of their lives there. Dean drove truck and JoAnn ran the farm and their two boys.

In his younger years, Dean enjoyed team roping, calf roping, pitch, horseshoes, and cribbage. He believed in keeping his word no matter what the cost and if he borrowed something he returned it. He attended the Bible Baptist Church until a few months before he passed away.

Dean was preceded in death by his wife JoAnn, brothers Bill, Bud, Puz, his mother Ellice, father Robert Jamison and his brother-in-law Jerry and wife Ann Stouffer.

He is survived by his sons Josh (Ann) Jamison and Tim (Lisa) Jamison, brothers Burr and Bobby Jamison, grandkids, Melissa Brown, Valerie Muthuswami, Kaylee Thurman, Justin, Tyrell, Hannah and Dylan Jamison, six nieces and five nephews.

  1. I remember Uncle Dean always on the road truck driving. When we would come to Gordon he always made a point to see us. I remember my Aunt Jo Ann would make the best dinners when we would go to the ranch something I won’t forget our family gatherings. Josh and Tim would try to entertain us city cousins which was entertaining all to it’s self . Uncle Dean I know you are with Aunt Jo Ann and so very happy once again!!!!
