Debbie was born August 13, 1954, daughter of Thomas and Nita Mack. She was a 1973 graduate of Waterman High School.
Debbie’s life journey led her to the Pine Ridge Reservation in Porcupine, SD, where she met and married Alvis Tail, who was a tribal member. She spent years learning and adapting to the Indian culture. Debbie loved the children and her animals on the reservation. She also loved crafting, music and gardening.
A special heartwarming thanks to her special caretakers, Ursula Buckman, Duane Brings Plenty Sr and Duane Brings Plenty Jr (DJ), and Aaron Rowland. We will be forever grateful for their love and support.
Debbie is survived by her son, Clayt (Cori) Wolfe; daughter, Megan (Tim) McCarthy; sister, Carla (Tony) Rivera; niece, Rachel (Ryan) Wold; aunt, Gloria (Scott) Bickford; and friend, Calvin McDonald. Debbie was a proud grandmother of Kyler and Kaden Wolfe, and great-aunt to Ellie and Alexandra Wold.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvis Tail; mother, Nita Mack; father, Thomas Mack; and grandparents, Helen and Wilbur Mack and Marian Holden, and Grandma and Grandpa Van Winkle.
Debbie will be greatly missed by her family in Illinois, and her family and friends on Pine Ridge.
A celebration of life is being planned in Porcupine, South Dakota, she will be laid to rest with her husband Alvis. A celebration of life also is being planned in DeKalb, for her family in Illinois.
Honorary pallbearers will be Adrian & Eldean Yellow Boy, AJ Yellow Boy, Adam Yellow Boy, the late Susan Yellow Boy, Pastor Albert Sutton and Family, Evergreen Lutheran Church Membership, Dorothy Tail, Priscilla Tail, Crystal Tail, Mary Tail, Lula Jones, Ella (David) Lays Bad and Family, Elizabeth Tail and Family, Carolyn, (the late Eli Tail Sr.) and Family, Lester & Wanda Rowland and Family, Dacey Mae Rowland, Les Rowland, Alicia Tail, Mario Graham and Family, and any/all special friends of Debbie and Alvis that we may have forgotten.
