Deputy Corrections Director Named Acting Director

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) – Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon has named Dept of Corrections deputy director Dan Shannon as the acting successor to director Bob Lampert, who announced his retirement this week after 17 years.

Lampert had 46-years in corrections and Shannon isn’t that far back with 34-years in the field himself – the first 22 in Pennsylvania and the last 12 in Wyoming.

He served 3 years as the Warden of the Wyoming Women’s Center in Lusk., then was the department’s Prison Division Administrator until being named deputy director in February.

Lampert said at the time that Shannon would “bring new energy and vision to the position along with his proven leadership experience.”
