Funeral services for 78-year old Douglas Poor Bear are Saturday, September 12, 2020 at 11:00 AM at the Pass Creek Church of God in Allen, SD, with Pastor Tim Wardell officiating.
Burial services will be at the Allen Community Cemetery, Allen, SD
A one-night wake service starts Friday, September 11, 2020 at 4:00 PM, also at the Pass Creek Church of God in Allen
Douglas Joseph Poor Bear was born on July 23, 1942 in Allen, SD to Theodore Poor Bear and Julia (Lone Wolf) Poor Bear. Douglas made his journey to the Spirit World on August 29, 2020 at the Bennett County Nursing Home in Pine Ridge, SD.
Douglas is survived by his children, Delaney (Matowi) Poor Bear and Danielle Poor Bear; and sister, Elaine (Lindolfo) Martinez.
Douglas was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Julia Poor Bear; twin brother, MacArthur Poor Bear; brothers, Arveal Whirlwind Horse, and Willard & Roscoe Poor Bear; sisters, Darlene Poor Bear, Clara Poor Bear-Garcia, Myrtle Poor Bear, Rochelle Lone Wolf, and Angelina Reyes; son, Desmond Poor Bear; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Wanbli Poor Bear, Angelo Poor Bear, Tony Poor Bear, Mauricio Curry, Leroy Brown Bull, David Red Bear, Leone Yellow Hawk, Omar Martinez, and Julian Buckman.
