Funeral services for 61-year old Edward Franklin “Bugs” Bartlett are Friday, May 1, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the T&T Building in Wanblee, SD, with Cyrus Black Elk officiating and traditional Lakota services by Mr Richard Moves Camp

Burial Services will be at the Gethsemane Episcopal Cemetery, Wanblee, SD

A one-night wake service starts Thursday, April 30, 2020 at noon at the T&T Building in Wanblee, SD.

Edward “Bugs” Bartlett was a veteran of the U-S Army and his arrangements are entrusted with Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD

Edward “Bugs” Franklin Bartlett was born on September 3, 1958 to Dora Brown and Rudolph Bartlett in Wanblee, SD. Bugs made his journey to the Spirit World on April 21, 2020 at the Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City, SD.

Bugs grew up in Wanblee, SD and graduated from Crazy Horse School. He went on to attend school at Black Hills State University in Spearfish, SD. Bugs proudly served in the Army for 11.5 years and did 2 tours. He also served as a board member for the Eagle Nest District and worked for the O.S.T. Rural Water for over 15 years.

Bugs loved his family, friends, rodeos, and just having a good time. Bugs was always the one to never leave anyone alone. He made sure everyone was taken care of and if he couldn’t do it he would make sure someone did it. Bugs thought the world of his nieces, nephews, and grandbabies. He will be truly missed by all.

Bugs is survived by his mother, Dora Brown of Wanblee, SD; brothers, Stanley (Sandra) Young, Sr. and Bill Lamont both of Wanblee, SD, John Bartlett of Pierre, SD, Clint and Steven Bartlett both of Eagle Butte, SD, Leonard Bartlett of Sioux Falls, SD, and Wade Bartlett of Rapid City, SD; sisters, Linda (Henry) Yellow Elk of Wanblee, SD and Lorencia Bartlett of Rapid City, SD; daughter, Taneal Randall of Wanblee, SD; son, Daniel Lakota of Marty, SD; and grandson, Kenan Zephier of Marty, SD.

Bugs was preceded in death by his father, Rudolph Bartlett; grandmother, Jenny Richards; sisters, Valerie Lamont-Wooden Knife, Laurie Bartlett-Bowen, and Ruth Brown-Wright; nephew, Tyler Randall; and aunt, Rachel Richards-Long Pumpkin.

Pallbearers will be Leon “Togi” Little Killer; Clarence Yellow Hawk, Todd Randall, Henry Yellow Elk, Jered Young, Daniel Lakota, Keenan Zephier, Bailey One Horn, Terry Romero, Richard Shots, and Algin Young Sr.
