Eight Chadron State College wrestlers entered the Rocky Mountain Open, hosted by Colorado School of Mines, in Golden, on Sunday.

Pacing the group was sophomore Colter Julian, whose 2-2 record in the 133-pound bracket led the CSC contingent. Julian pinned an opponent from CSU-Pueblo, and he majored an Adams State opponent whom he’d beaten previously in the varsity dual lineup. He was on the receiving end of two pins – one against an NCAA Division I opponent and the other from Air Force Preparatory Academy.

Four others went 1-2, with Hunter Gilmore and Javen Palmer each claiming a win over a Division I foe.

This concludes the regular season for the Eagles, who will compete at the NCAA Super Region VI Championships on February 26 in Grand Junction, Colorado.
