Election Results Coming In Slowly In The Northern Panhandle

Election results are processing slowly but steadily in the northern Panhandle.

As of 9:15 Sheridan County had yet to complete its first preliminary run and Dawes County had results from only 4 precincts – all in the Chadron area.

In the Chadron City Council race, the only contested race in Chadron with 2 seats up, incumbent Keith Crofutt currently has 973, Joe Johndreau 940 and A-J Bassett 849.

In the race for Dawes County Commissioner District 3, Republican Levi Grant has 357 and Democrat Marisa Betson 248, but that’s without any Crawford precincts.

Statewide, President Trump, U-S Senator Ben Sasse, and 3rd District Congressman Adrian Smith have all been declared as winners.

2nd District Congressman Don Bacon has 54-43% lead over Democrat Kara Eastman with 40% of precincts in, but Democrat Kate Bolz has a narrow 50-47% lead over incumbent 2nd District Congressman Jeff Fortenberry with 46% of the precincts counted.

All 6 of the statewide ballot measures look to be passing easily. With 35% of the precincts in, the closest is extending fron 15 years to 20 years the maximum repayment period for TIF bonds and it has a 62-38% lead.
