Viewing services for 67-year old Elmer Bear Eagle are Tues, Jan 26, 2021 from 10:00 till noon at the Sioux Funeral Home in Pine Ridge, SD.
A luncheon follows the service at 3:00 at the Church of God in Wounded Knee, SD
Cremation will also follow the services with burial to be held at a later date.
Elmer Legene Bear Eagle was born on March 27, 1953 in Pine Ridge, SD to Legene Bear Eagle and Fannie Featherman. Elmer made his journey to the Spirit World on January 22, 2021 in Wounded Knee, SD.
Elmer is survived by his daughters, Jennifer Bear Eagle of Chadron, NE and Sina Bear Eagle of New York City, NY; sons, Tahtanka Bear Eagle of Coulee Dam, WA, Legene Bear Eagle of Chadron, NE, Louis Bear Eagle of Prewitt, NM, Marcus Bear Eagle of Chadron, NE, and Michael Wiyaka Wicasa Muenzer of Germany; siblings, Von Bear Eagle of Hot Springs, SD, Arlo Looking Cloud of Rapid City, SD, Steve Bear Eagle of Wounded Knee, SD, Richard Two Elk of Denver, CO, Carolyn One Feather of Hot Springs, SD, Eloise One Feather of Hot Springs, SD, Juliann Shot To Pieces of Wounded Knee, SD, Clara McManus of Lame Deer, MT, and Beverly Bear Eagle-Larson of Wounded Knee, SD; grandchildren, Tahrae, Chante, and Kaya Bear Eagle of Coulee, Dam, WA, Louis, Jr., Isaac, and Jade Bear Eagle all of Prewitt, NM, and James McCave II of Chadron, NE; and granddaughter, Shey Holder of Wounded Knee, SD.
Elmer was preceded in death by his parents, Legene Bear Eagle and Fannie Featherman; and siblings, Anthony Marshall, Harlan Bear Eagle, Olivia Brown Eyes, and Mellessia Bear Eagle.
Honorary pallbearers will be Lyman “Porky” Red Cloud, Tasunka Wakan Sundance, Wounded Knee Community, Wounded Knee Head Start, and All Friends & Relatives.
