Funeral services for 41-year old Ernest “Beanie” White, originally scheduled Wed, Feb 23, 2022 at 1:00 have been changed to graveside services on Monday, Feb 28, at 2:00 at Holy Rosary Catholic Mission Cemetery in Pine Ridge, SD, with Father Edmund Yainao, S.J., officiating and Mr Phillip Black Bear singing the Honoring Song.
Visitation precedes the services from 10:00 to 2:00 PM at Joyner Hall in Pine Ridge.
Ernest James White, a.k.a “Beanie,” was born on April 18, 1980 in Pine Ridge, SD to Everette White Sr and Georgia Red Dog. Ernest made his journey to the Spirit World on February 14, 2022 at the Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City, SD.
Beanie was a great provider for his kids, family, and friends. He was an awesome father and the world’s best friend.
Beanie always had a sense of humor and got along well with everyone who crossed paths with him. He had a huge heart and was always quick to lend a helping hand.
He always took his kids to the country when they were little and taught them about timpsilas and how to braid them, how to braid sage, and how to make beaded earrings and dreamcatchers. Beanie was so proud that his artwork went all over the United States and other countries.
He loved being outdoors in nature a lot. He definitely will always be loved and missed.
“Beanie” White is survived by his children, Joshua (Meltina) Wanamaker, Sioux Dawn (Max) Wanamaker, Jacob (Selena) Wanamaker, and Izzy Bissonette; siblings, Christopher White, Sr., Troylene Black Feather, Leroy Ghost, Jr., Angelita Ghost, and Alvin Ghost; cousin, Ann Mesteth de Alfonso; grandchildren, Chloe Jumping Eagle, Emily Jumping Eagle, D’Angelo Jumping Eagle, Joshua Wanamaker II, Madden Blue Legs, Laura Morrison, and Rosa Wanamaker; and numerous relatives.
Beanie was preceded in death by his parents, Everette White, Sr. and Georgia Red Dog; brother, Everette White, Jr.; cousins, Derek Red Dog, Corwin Black Bear, and Nathan Black Feather; aunts, Betty Red Dog, Florence Red Dog, Antoinette Black Bear, and Betty Black Bear; uncles, Huron Red Dog, Jr. and Antoine Black Bear; and grandparents, Huron Red Dog, Sr. and Christine Black Bear.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Wanamaker, Jacob Wanamaker, Dana Cross, Jr., Michael “Mikey” Red Cloud, Max Blacksmith, Brandon Blue Bird, Les Jack, Christopher White, Jr., Christian Cross, and Leonard Sharpfish, Jr.
