Evan Fox was born on October 16, 1989, in Chadron, NE. Evan left us before he (or any of us) was ready, passing away peacefully at home on Saturday February 12th.

Evan was a loyal friend, a caring and thoughtful son and brother, a valuable community member, and above all, a remarkable father.  He made friends easily wherever he went, and his smile was truly beautiful.

Evan grew up on the Fox family ranch, attended Harrison Grade School, and graduated from Sioux County High School, where he swept the competition for homecoming king & prom king and didn’t make trouble at all.

He studied diversified agriculture at Southeastern Nebraska Community College, where made many friends and didn’t party even a little bit. There he met Jamie Sturdy, whom he moved back to the ranch with in 2013 and married three years later.

Their separation was followed shortly by the birth of Ellie Rose, the center of Evan’s world.  If you knew Evan, you know that Ellie was truly the light of his life. He did everything he could to make sure she was happy and well cared for from the day she was born to the day his life ended.

Evan is survived by his daughter Ellie Rose Fox, his parents Emery & Sybil Fox, sister Stacy/Clem Fox, sister Shelly (Greg) Elwood, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Evan was preceded in death by grandparents Merle & Clarice Mercer and Eldon and Katherine Fox, uncles Bob Fox, Owen Fox, and Jay Dee Fox.

Chamberlain Chapel of Chadron is in charge of arrangements for Evan Fox.
